Questions and answers
Quotes, lead times, measuring, consent, glass, payment, delivery and warranties. If yours isn’t here, call or email us.

How do I get a quote?
Visit the showroom, phone, email, or use the quote form. Send us plans or drawings, or book a time for us to visit your site and measure for your joinery.
How long does a quote take?
Generally around five working days. Large or detailed projects, and jobs that include installation, can take longer.
Can I measure my own windows?
Yes. Our measuring guide lists what to note: photos inside and out, the height and width inside each frame, sill heights, which rooms are bathrooms, ensuites or stairwells, and which windows open. A final measure confirms every size before anything is ordered.
Do you have a showroom?
Yes, at Unit 8, 29 Parkway, Wainuiomata. It’s a good place to start if you’re choosing a joinery supplier, and there’s usually someone on hand for basic advice.
If you’d like to go through options or plans, make an appointment with our sales team so someone is free to help.
What happens after I accept a quote?
You sign the quote or accept it by email and pay the deposit. We confirm the colour, hardware and configuration, then book a final measure with you and your installer. After that we order, manufacture and deliver, and your installer fits the joinery. See how it works.
How long will it take to get my joinery?
Once a job is accepted it generally takes around eight weeks to supply. Busy times can take longer, so check our current lead times before you go ahead.
Can you install my joinery?
We don’t employ installers ourselves, but we can recommend a builder we work closely with, who can install your joinery for you.
Do I need building consent to change my windows?
For like-for-like replacement of windows or doors, building consent isn’t usually needed. Talk your project through with your builder or your local council to be sure.
What glass should I use?
It depends on the room and the house. Talk your project through with us and we’ll recommend the glass to suit, from Low-E double glazing to obscure glass for bathrooms. See glass and double glazing.
Do I have to get Low-E glass?
Not by law, but the H1 energy rules for new housing set minimum R-values for windows and doors. A new home in Lower Hutt with a building consent application lodged from 1 May 2023 needs R0.46 or better, and Low-E double glazing helps windows get there.
Work that doesn’t need consent isn’t covered by these rules. See thermal efficiency.
How do I pay?
A 50% deposit when you accept your quote, paid into the bank account on the quote. When your job is complete you’re invoiced for the final 50%. Payment is due for completed work even if you’re not ready for delivery.
Builders and contractors with a trade account pay on the terms agreed. Ask us about applying for one.
Do your delivery drivers help unload?
Our driver delivers your joinery to the kerb. Beyond that, you need two people on site to receive the items.
What warranties do you give?
Workmanship 5 years. Standard powder coat 10 years, with longer periods for other finishes. Glass 12 years. Hardware 5 years unless otherwise specified. Installation usually 5 years, depending on your installer and your agreement with them.
Special colours, unusual hardware or options, and hardware you supply yourself may have different warranty periods, or none. See warranty and care.
Where is my joinery made?
About 80% of our finished products are made here in Wainuiomata, and the rest in Christchurch and Hamilton. The aluminium is extruded and finished in Hamilton, and our AGP double glazing is made at Hautapu, near Cambridge.
Do you supply uPVC windows?
Yes, Klima uPVC windows and doors, double glazed with tilt-and-turn hardware. Klima frames are white, with an aluminium cover in other colours as an option. See uPVC windows and doors.
