Warranty and care
Warranty and care
What our warranty covers, and the cleaning that keeps windows and doors working and keeps the warranty intact.

Our warranty
Each part of your joinery has its own warranty period.
Special colours, hardware, more unusual options and hardware you supply yourself may have different warranty periods, or no warranty cover at all. Ask before you order.
Vantage also warrants its products against failure of materials or workmanship under normal conditions of use for 5 years from practical completion. Klima backs its uPVC products with a 10-year warranty, with 5 years on high-use parts such as rollers, hinges, seals and mohair strips.

Care and maintenance
Looking after your joinery
Vantage’s care guidance, in short. Hardware warranties depend on following it.
Frames
- Clean every three months, and more often near the coast or industry
- Use a soft brush, warm water and a little mild household detergent, then rinse with fresh water
- Skip steel wool, scrapers, scouring liquids, solvents and thinners
- Clear builders’ dust and debris from inside the sills so the drainage holes stay open
- Keep door tracks clear of grit
Hardware
- Powder coated: a wet sponge or soft brush, warm water and mild detergent
- Plated: a wet sponge with no detergent, which can damage the plating
- Stainless steel: a mildly abrasive cleaner for rust spots, rinsed with fresh water
- Heavier marks on stainless: a Scotch-Brite hand pad, or 3M Stainless Steel Cleaner and Polish
Glass
- Use detergents and cleaners made for glass
- Soak the glass first to loosen the dirt
- Apply a mild, non-abrasive cleaner evenly
- Rinse thoroughly: cleaning residue can permanently mark glass
