Our double glazed units come from AGP, Architectural Glass Products. AGP is part of the Profile Group, alongside APL, the company behind Vantage, and it makes its units at a purpose-built plant at Hautapu, near Cambridge.
The AGP System
The AGP System is AGP’s double glazed unit, built with:
- Solux-E or Solux Ultra Low-E glass
- Argon gas between the panes
- ATS, AGP’s Architectural Thermal Spacer, around the edge
AGP puts the AGP System with Solux Ultra at 49% better performance than clear double glazing. It’s backed by a 12-year warranty from AGP, two years longer than the industry standard.
What Low-E does
Low-E glass has a thin coating on the inside surface of the outer pane that cuts the heat lost through the glass while daylight still comes through. Low-E double glazing helps windows reach the R-values the H1 rules ask for in new homes.
Privacy and safety
Bathrooms, ensuites and windows facing the street can have obscure glass. Windows in places like stairwells, or where glass guards against a fall, may need a different glass type, so mark them on your plans or measurements and we’ll quote the right glass.
Vantage products meet or exceed the New Zealand Building Code, including NZS 4211 for window performance and NZS 4223 for glazing in buildings.
Cleaning your glass
Use detergents made for glass. Soak the glass first to loosen dirt, apply a mild, non-abrasive cleaner evenly, then rinse it off thoroughly, because cleaning residue can permanently mark glass.
